Enjoyment

April 20th, 2009 — 4:48pm

Even though the heat is a bit of a bummer, it is a gorgeous day. After working on Ellie’s training which went well, we went to the dog park. The park was completely empty so it was just her and I enjoying the sun, the grass, and the fresh air. It was so peaceful. It was wonderful to spend some one on one time with my puppy. Even though I now have a mild sunburn, I’m still grateful that I decided to take the time to put her needs first because I never would have gone outside to enjoy the day without her.

Now THAT makes me happy!

April 10th, 2009 — 5:48pm

Pictures from Vegas. There is no point trying to sum up the trip in words because the pictures pretty much do it for me.

I will save you some time. This and this are the most talked about events and funnily enough, they both involve my red corset.

Our puppy has kittens

March 28th, 2009 — 9:46am

Ellie thinks these are her babies. She gets very upset whenever they cry and comes to us to let us know that something isn’t right and we need to bring them to her so she can take care of them. She is very very good with them. It is so cute.

Brief amusement

March 6th, 2009 — 11:35am

A package arrived today and Potato and I had a good laugh over the amount of postage – $115 (in Hong Kong dollars). It covered up the majority of one side of the package. Good times.

Sharks vs. Tampa Bay Lightning

January 14th, 2009 — 12:06pm

You’ll have to excuse these pictures. I was already heavily intoxicated before we arrived to the game – thanks to a lovely little thing called a Sharkarita at Peggy Sue’s that had more alcohol than your local bar combined (oh sweet geezus, the booze!). I am way too into hockey to take pictures as it’s going on so the pictures are kind of.. umm, odd? Unless if a fight breaks out then you bet your ass I’m taking pictures of it. Unfortunately it was a relatively quiet evening despite the awesome score (7-1 Sharks, yeah baby!) so no pictures of fights. You do get to see me in me drunken, sweaty glory though. I was loud and obnoxious because that is the only way to be when you are a shy, anti-social person who has a major thing for licking all the Sharks players. Yep yep.

Potato had never been before and he is not really into hockey. It’s sad. I had to be loud and obnoxious for the both of us. Dude wouldn’t even do the jaws crap. He only half hearted clapped too. And he was making fun of everything. What the hell!? You don’t diss the Sharks while on their turf. Pssssht.

And I am just now realizing that my glasses totally need to be fixed. My dog made them crooked again. That silly little pooper….

Finally!

January 8th, 2009 — 2:01pm

This is Tony. Well actually, this is Tony’s left eye but it is the only picture I have of him right now. He is a gorgeous palomino Quarter Horse who I’ve known for almost nine years. Since my back has been doing remarkably well for the past week and a half, I jumped the gun a little and decided to get back to the life I was living before I was hospitalized for my fractured spine. So, I will be taking care of this big guy once a week unless I physically cannot handle it. Unfortunately, I will not be riding him for the foreseeable future. I hope I’ll get to that point though.

Tony’s owner is a woman who I always refer to as a second mother and she and I are two friggin’ peas in a pod. We have similar mental issues, almost the exact same physical issues, similar pasts, etc. It is kind of freaky. Anyway, she hasn’t had luck with her pain for a few years either so I figured while I’m feeling good I’ll help her out in addition to doing something that I love. It’s a win-win situation.

I am so excited to finally feel like I am living again. I honestly never though this day would come. I’ve been crying off and on from sheer happiness. This is huge. Monumental, even. The relief from knowing that even for a few days, I am ok and I am capable of being the person I was before all this crap happened. Even if it doesn’t last as long as I would like, even if I have to go long stretches between good times, at least I’ll know that I was given this chance to enjoy something again for as long as it lasts. I intend to take full advantage of that.

Now, all I need to do is get myself a job and I’ll be set. Everything else should pretty much fall into place from there.

A little bit spoiled even though some people hate me

December 30th, 2008 — 9:41pm

I am super excited about going to Las Vegas in April. Potato mentioned going soon and I asked if we could go around my birthday since that would be the only way to get people to show up for my birthday. (People don’t really like me too much. My birthday last year really sucked because no one except T and V showed up beyond the people in the house. To numb that fact, I drank way too much, almost got myself caught between legs of a folding table, puked and ended up blacking out about the whole evening. Anyway…) The dates worked for some and because there is more stuff to do than celebrate my birthday, more people are on board. And since some of the more popular people are coming, that means even more people are considering tagging along so hey. FYI, It never hurts to know people who have better social skills than you.

Anyway, the thing I am most looking forward to about Vegas (other than staying in a nice hotel with pampering galore)? Reliving this little moment:

Ok, I’m joking, although that would be funny to see again. Potato was totally getting a lap dance from that dude with the taco tattoo because it was his birthday. I want a lap dance from Senor Taco too, dammit!

What I am really most looking forward to is talking some people into taking a “short” day trip with me to Utah. This upcoming birthday will be the one that I wanted to go to Utah for. Specifically I wanted to do a Utah road trip but since that’s a bit extreme especially with the Vegas trip, I’ll settle for a park at the southwestern corner of Utah. A brief hike (with plenty of pain meds in me beforehand, of course) through one of the parks will make me feel like I didn’t completely fail at my plans which’ll be a huge thing for my self-esteem. I’ll probably do Zion since that’s the closest one to the Nevada border other than Snow Canyon which looks relatively uninteresting comparatively but we’ll see. We still have about three months to figure it out.

Ok, I’m tired – it’s about time for bed. I’ve been struggling with an allergic reaction to something all day so I gave in and took some Benadryl. I’m starting to suspect the culprit is chocolate. Uh oh! Nighters!
